Happy Monday! We hope you had a meaningful Yom Kippur and are looking forward to Sukkot coming up later this week as the high holidays chug onward.

This week’s roundup is dedicated to the Yom Kippur service held on Friday night at the Occupy Wall Street protests going on right now in New York. The service, which was organized after-hours by Repair’s own Director of Digital Strategy, Dan Sieradski, was attended by nearly 1,000 Jews, and was a joyful, serious, reflective, and peaceful celebration of the otherwise somber holiday. It has received lots of great press in Jewish and secular publications, like the articles below. Read on and get inspired:

• Alef: The NEXT Conversation interviewed Dan before the service to inquire of his motivations for organizing it.
• The Forward published an essay by Jeanette Friedman, Dan’s mom, about why she chose to spend her kol nidre service at the OWS protest.
• The Forward also published a great video of the service which shows the scope and the power that resonated there that evening.
• The Huffington Post published an essay by Joe Winkler reflecting on how he rediscovered Yom Kippur as a personal practice through the service.
