The Jewish community has always cultivated a strong “do it yourself” streak — from the 40 years the Israelites spent roughing it in desert, to the countless Jewish immigrants who built homes in new (and sometimes less-than-welcoming) communities across the globe. We honor that independent spirit by devoting this section to D.I.Y. organizing.
