Hi, my name is Lou Fusco!! I am a Philadelphia native and recent graduate of Goucher College. There, I was a Sociology & Anthropology major, with a concentration in Social Justice, and a double minor in Dance & Women, Gender, Sexuality Studies. I’ve also worked with Goucher Hillel for three years, with my latest position being co-president!! I’m very excited to be staying in the Baltimore area as a fellow and continue to work on social justice issues through community engagement.

Jane Keller

Hi, my name is Jane! I have recently finished my Master’s degree in Political Science at Rutgers University. While in college I developed a passion for the impact of public policy on human rights. I minored in Social Justice, became an Associate and student researcher at the Eagleton Institute of Politics, and interned at Unchained at Last, a non-profit that works to end child marriage in the US, as well as Move for Hunger, an organization that organizes the real estate and moving industries to fight food waste. I then moved on to studying global policy as a graduate student in the hopes of one day working in the field of international human rights advocacy, but first I’m stopping in Baltimore to learn more about social justice at the grassroots level and develop my knowledge of and connection to my Jewish background.

Ahkasha Love

Ahkasha (She/Her) was born in Hawaii, raised in Baltimore, and came of age in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. Growing up in these disparate settings acculturated her to the diversity of human experience and inspired her interest in social justice, public policy, intercultural exchange, and world languages. Pursuing these interests led her to graduate from the University of Hawaii Manoa, where she received a B.A. in Japanese Language and a B.A. in Second Language Studies. She is a member of the Japanese National Honor Society and an alumna of the U.S. State Department’s Foreign Language Area Studies Fellowship (Japan) and the Critical Language Scholarship program (Korea).

After graduation Ahkasha worked as a second language teacher, ESL program resident assistant, and staff translator. In 2018 she felt called to turn her work towards public service and became a Committee Clerk at the Hawaii State House of Representatives, where she provided administration to the Public Safety Committee and managed the progress of bills through the House. Following her time at the state legislature, she worked for a large community foundation providing program and grant management for initiatives related to early childhood mental health, education, covid relief, hunger, and homelessness.

Since returning to Baltimore Ahkasha has joined Repair the World as a Program Associate. She looks forward to putting action behind her faith by serving others and supporting the community.Ahkasha enjoys all the little things in life.

Her hobbies include gardening, hiking, cooking, reading, scifi, capoeira, and travel.

Josh Sherman

Josh (He/Him) is the City Director for Repair the World Baltimore. Prior to joining the staff of Repair the World, he served as the Director of Community Relations for the Baltimore Jewish Council. There he expanded their interfaith work and social justice education programming. He also worked for the Edlvaitch DCJCC in their volunteer department. Josh is a Baltimore native and previously served as a program manager for Repair the World Baltimore for three years. Josh studied Religious Studies at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio and recently received a certificate in Jewish Ethics and Social Justice from the Jewish Theological Seminary. Josh has a passion for Baltimore and looks forward to giving back to the community that helped raise him.

Rachel Siegel

Rachel has been deeply passionate about social justice and racial equality since she was in middle school, attending their first abortion rights rally in 8th grade. She was born and raised in sunny Miami, Florida and attended the University of Miami where she got a degree in Communication Sciences, double majoring in Communication studies with a focus in Public Advocacy and Political Science. Rachel worked with their university’s largest and oldest LGBTQ organization for their entire undergrad career, planning and orchestrating their largest events. She did everything from throwing beads on a float in Miami Beach Pride, to strutting down the runway at our annual Drag Show fundraiser. They also worked on Donna Shalala’s congressional campaign during the 2018 midterm election, helping to flip FL-27 blue for the first time in over 25 years. Rachel spent much of 2020 in the Serve the Moment program, learning about food insecurity within the Jewish Community in South Florida, inspiring them to join the Repair the World team!
