Campaign
Service for Racial Justice – MLK Weekend
We envision a just world in which all individual needs are met, with care and consideration for the individual and their identity; everyone has access to nourishing food, secure housing, appropriate medical care, and comprehensive education, and has the opportunity to realize their full potential regardless of gender, race, color, religion, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, age, or ethnicity. Throughout history, civil rights activists and service providers have taken action against the inequitable distribution of power and resources based on identity, attempting to actualize this reality of a just world. On Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) weekend, and throughout the year, we lean into the Jewish value of justice, tzedek, as we serve in support of access for communities of color and other marginalized groups.
Volunteer Virtually Today from Anywhere!
Volunteer virtually to address the inequitable access to vital resources based on identity and as a result of systemic injustice, and show up for your communities with your service. Over MLK weekend, and throughout the year, we lean into the Jewish value of justice, tzedek, as we serve in support of access for communities of color and other marginalized groups.
More than 66,000 people are experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles County. OCLA has developed a free mobile app that empowers people experiencing resource insecurity to find and connect to free programs providing food, shelter, healthcare, legal aid, crisis support, hygiene facilities, and more. Volunteers will research and make calls to ensure the app database has the most up-to-date shelter information available. Help us track our impact! Have a friend who wants to participate? Instead of forwarding the toolkit, please invite them to register on our website.
Update Resource DatabaseVote Forward volunteers send heartfelt handwritten letters to unregistered and low-propensity voters encouraging them to participate in our democracy. Sign up, “adopt” a voter, write your letters, and commit to sticking them in the mail by the listed deadline. Help us track our impact! Have a friend who wants to participate? Instead of forwarding the toolkit, please invite them to register on our website.

Donate Necessary ItemsTrans folks all over the world face discrimination simply by existing in systems that don’t provide support, protections, or affirming care. Volunteers will handwrite notes for trans youth and adults, letting them know they are seen, supported, and valid. Point of Pride will include these letters in donations of free chest binders and femme shapewear (garments that help trans folks live more safely, comfortably and authentically). Help us track our impact! Have a friend who wants to participate? Instead of forwarding the toolkit, please invite them to register on our website.
Support Trans FolksJoin Hunger Free America to build the most comprehensive collection of food resources in the country. Volunteers will research and make calls to ensure the database has the most up-to-date information available. This will be used to help the national USDA Hunger Hotline connect those in need to necessary resources. You can register and log your hours in Hunger Free America’s volunteer portal.
Build A Food DatabaseIsolation is central to the persistence of domestic violence, sexual violence, and incarceration.
