We will be hearing from Israeli Trans Activist Michael Alroy on his story: Life Begins Where Fear Ends, and his experiences with gender in his personal life and as an activist when his story became a national news topic. We will also be decorating our own Haggadah pages and sharing ideas about incorporating gender justice into our own pesach seders. We will have snacks and drinks! Join NY Repair for the 2024 Annual Riverkeeper Sweep! We will be meeting at the UCC Youth Farm 620 Schenck Ave, then heading out from there. This event was started to raise awareness to reduce pollution in some of the US's most polluted rivers, including our Hudson! We will be clearing litter and cultivating soil in tree beds on the busier streets of East New York. East New York is an important community of native new yorkers who have been fighting for better environmental conditions in their area since the 20th century, and the neighborhood is also now home to many arriving immigrants.
