Miracle Messages has a ‘phone buddy’ program that matches volunteers with individuals isolated by homelessness for weekly phone calls and text messages to provide companionship and social support. After a brief info session and training (offered every Wednesday), you will be set up with a separate and secure phone number that will allow you to keep in touch with your buddy throughout the week. Volunteers will handwrite notes for trans youth and adults, letting them know they are seen, supported, and valid. Point of Pride will include these letters in donations of free chest binders and femme shapewear (garments that help trans folks live more safely, comfortably and authentically). Winter donations needed! JFCS Refugee and Immigrant Services are welcoming refugee families and individuals to resettle and they need coats, hats, gloves, scarves, winter boots and socks. All genders + sizes needed. Drop off new or gently-worn + cleaned donations to Pigeon Bagel or Trace Brewing during open business hours.
