Volunteering with your favorite organization is a great way to make a difference. But what if you could join together with millions of other Americans for one massive day of changing the world? (Spoiler alert: you can!)
This October 22 is Make a Difference Day, the country’s largest day of community service. People from across all 50 states participate in a day of volunteer projects in their communities. Events include everything from hosting job-readiness events, to organizing coat drives, planting trees and running blood donation fairs. Events run small and large, ranging from a couple of people to over 1,000 volunteers at a single event.
No matter the size, each event is all about neighbors helping neighbors, strengthening communities and reminding us that, while every day offers the opportunity to make a difference, joining together to serve is one of the most rewarding experiences possible.
Have a fantastic idea for a project or event? Register it here at the Make a Difference “Daytabank.” (You can search for projects to get involved with too!) Still thinking about how to help, or need tips to turn your idea into action? HandsOn Network provides all sorts of tool kits for volunteers and organizers that will help you get your Make A Difference Day service project up and running.
Can’t serve on that day? Let us know how you’re serving year-round.
