Position Overview

Repair the World Pittsburgh is looking for a dynamic leader who is passionate about the intersection of Judaism and service, deeply committed to building a strong and effective team and fostering an environment of empowerment. The full-time Program Associate will work closely with the City Director to help build a collaborative, and accountable team of Fellows who successfully engage their peers in service, learning, program design, and program implementation.

The people Repair works with and our teams come from a wide range of backgrounds,  meaning the Program Associate must be able to thoughtfully navigate issues related to race, identity, and equity, and bring a deep commitment to advancing the values of equity and inclusion. 

Position Responsibilities

Fellowship Program Delivery and Experience

Lead, and coach a team of 2-4 Fellows to achieve service performance requirements, meet their service partner standards, and reach their leadership development potential

  • Oversee day to day operations with the goal of Fellows becoming integrated service partners and reaching their volunteer engagement goals
  • Lead powerful daily morning meetings through team building, agenda-setting, and clear communication
  • Develop and maintain an accountability system for Fellows that supports their strengths and challenges their areas of improvement. Provide support through one-on-one meetings and check-ins.
  • Track and review Fellow’s service-learning projects to ensure adherence to program standards; which include working with families and teens
  • In collaboration with the national program team, coordinate and facilitate weekly learning for Fellows around issues of systemic injustice, Jewish values, volunteer mobilization, and management
  • Facilitate timely and accurate data collection into Repair’s Salesforce system
  • Oversee Repair’s Teen and Families programing, including recruitment, programming and logistics

Event Management & Service Partner Liaison 

  • Serve as the main point of contact for Pittsburgh Repair’s service and community partners including Repair’s Teen Engagement program with the JCC
    • Establish communication norms, write and review MOUs, and collect data
  • In collaboration with partners, plan 3 episodic events a month as well as episodic events connected to Repair’s national campaigns 4 times per year.
  • Review and adjust the monthly event calendar to balance a variety of events and audiences

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated success with building relationships with and leading young adults, teens, and people with diverse backgrounds and experiences; including coaching, addressing conflict, and leveraging strengths to achieve goals
  • Proven ability to develop service projects and events and manage volunteers, including taking the big picture and project managing down to the last detail
  • A proven track record of collaboration success and teamwork on short and long term projects
  • Skilled in managing multiple projects and workstreams 
  • Commitment to ongoing personal identity exploration, anti-oppression, and anti-racism training, and support in Fellows’ journey
  • Understanding of data management and CRM

Application Process

  2. Screening interviews will be conducted by a member of Repair’s Operations Team
  3. Second round interviews will be conducted by Pittsburgh’s City Director and another member of the Programs Team

Compensation

The starting salary for this role is $39,000. Benefits package includes paid time off for service in addition to vacation, sick leave and holidays, employer pays 100% for employee medical/dental/vision coverage and 50% for dependents, 401k retirement matching, professional development funds, and 12 weeks of paid parental leave upon 1 year of employment.
