Repair the World mobilizes Jews and their communities to take action to pursue a just world. Repair the World operates direct programs in 13 communities across the country, including a full-time Fellowship, part-time Service Corps, and episodic service and learning opportunities to engage the broader community. Repair the World Atlanta supports grassroots local organizations working toward housing, food, education, and racial justice. Atlanta Repair was founded in 2018 and in 2020, launched our Service Corps as part of a broad initiative called Serve the Moment.
Repair is looking for a dynamic Senior Associate to support our Service Corps Members, develop service learning opportunities and programs in Atlanta. The position includes overseeing stipended Corps Members during their 1-3 month service placements; building partnerships with local Jewish, social justice, and service organizations; and planning regular service opportunities in conjunction with Repair’s national issue area campaigns. Corps Members volunteer virtually or in-person with local service partners working to combat the lasting economic and social effects of the pandemic in Atlanta’s community.
This full time exempt position will report to Atlanta Repair’s Executive Director, and will work collaboratively and closely with local partners.
- Recruit and oversee day to day operations of 3 cohorts of 10-20 Corps Members per year (Fall, Spring, and Summer) with the goal of Corps Members becoming integrated service partners and reaching their volunteer goals.
- Identify, build, and sustain existing and new relationships with local Jewish organizations, civic and nonprofit communities, and nonprofits engaged with communities directly impacted by COVID-19 for Corps Member placements, episodic service, and national campaigns, in collaboration with Fellows and other staff members.
- As a member of the Atlanta program team, support national issue area campaigns (eg. food insecurity); enact a robust calendar of programming, including service opportunities that match the needs of service partners and the target audience, and larger-scale service events (eg. MLK Day of Service).
- In partnership with Repair’s national team, coordinate and facilitate weekly learning for Corps Members around issues of systemic injustice, Jewish values, volunteer mobilization, and management.
Position Requirements and Skills

- 2+ years of volunteer management or team leadership experience; demonstrated success with building relationships and coaching young adults and people with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
- Clear understanding of how to create long-term professional relationships; ideal candidate is already involved in the Jewish, service, and/or social justice community in Atlanta.
- Skilled in networking and building up relationships with the intent of creating a pipeline of Jewish young adults, excited to serve in our programs.
- Strong self-management & organization skills.
- Sophisticated awareness of poverty, structural racism, power and privilege and ability to facilitate conversations around these issues with diverse groups in ways that empower and open people to learning.
- Experience with service event management and/or leading service-learning conversations.

The starting salary is $43,500 with 2-3 years experience. Benefits package includes paid time off for service in addition to vacation and holidays, employer pays 100% for employee medical/dental/vision coverage and 50% for dependents, retirement matching, and professional development funds. In addition, employees that have been with Repair for at least a year are eligible for 12 weeks of paid parental leave.
The process for the hired applicant process will include:
