Repair is building a national Jewish service movement that mobilizes young adults to serve in their communities, catalyzes service through deep partnerships within Jewish communal organizations, and inspires people to take action through time-bound thematic national service campaigns, digital engagement, and service. Our mission provides volunteers with an increased connection to meaningful service and learning as a Jewish value, builds capacity for nonprofit partners to meet their missions, and deepens connections across lines of difference.
Position Overview
Repair the World is seeking a part-time Recruitment Specialist to join our People & Culture team. We are looking for someone with experience and passion for recruitment who will help us research, develop and implement effective recruiting strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates for the organization. The Recruitment Specialist will work closely with hiring managers throughout the organization to guide them through the recruitment and hiring process providing personalized support as needed. Our national organization includes a variety of types of roles with some remote positions and some location-based positions, so our Recruitment Specialist will need the ability to help source for a wide range of candidates. We are also committed to ensuring that our hiring practices are equitable and accessible which will be a high priority for this role. The Recruitment Specialist will also support the team on onboarding accountability as new team members are hired.
This part-time position is on Repair’s national team and will report to the Senior Director of People & Culture. This is a remote (US-based) position with a preference for someone located in or adjacent to one of Repair’s communities (Atlanta, Baltimore, Bay Area, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Colorado, Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Pittsburgh).
Position Responsibilities
- Talent Acquisition and Hiring:
- Support an equitable and transparent hiring process for open positions.
- Source candidates using a variety of search methods to build a diverse candidate pipeline.
- Support hiring managers in all parts of the hiring process from the initial creation of a job description through offer acceptance using tools that have already been created.
- Screen candidates by reviewing resumes and job applications and perform informational interviews and first round screening interviews.
- Implement a high quality candidate experience through strong communication and inclusion practices at all points in the hiring process.
- Manage our applicant tracking system (Breezy), implementing improvements where necessary.
- Onboarding Support
- Collaborate with supervisors and new hires to ensure accountability in the onboarding process including 30/60/90 day goals and scope of work.
- Partner with the Operations team on backend onboarding processes.
Position Requirements and Skills:

- 3+ years of recruiting experience and managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process
- Deep commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion; passionate about implementing and training staff on equitable hiring practices
- Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment of a wide variety of roles
- Working knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems and HR databases (familiarity with Breezy a plus)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish effective and collaborative working relationships
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative and move projects forward
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Familiarity with laws, regulations and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment

Compensation
Compensation at Repair the World is determined based on the salary band for the role and adjusted based on cost of living where the final candidate resides. This is a 20-hour per week remote (US-based) position. For candidates with 3+ years of experience, compensation for the role starts between $30,000-$35,000 (annualized salary $60,000-$70,000). This part-time position is not eligible for health insurance benefits.

- Applicants moved forward will have a first round screening interview with a member of the People & Culture Team.
- Applicants that move forward will have a second round interview with the Senior Director of People & Culture and Director of Operations.
- Applicants that move forward will have a final round meet & greet with the Chief Operating Officer.
- Two professional references will be requested before the final round of the interview process.
