Repair the World Voluntarily Recognizes the Repair the World Guild Staff Union

New York, N.Y. – Repair the World, leader of the Jewish service movement, and the Repair the World Guild Staff Union are pleased to jointly announce that Repair the World has voluntarily recognized the Repair the World Guild Staff Union on August 30, 2023 and supports the staff’s affiliation with the Washington Baltimore News Guild, Local 32035 of TNG/CWA.

Cindy Greenberg, President and CEO of Repair the World stated: “We value our employees’ dedication to pursuing a just world and respect our staff’s right to organize. We are proud of this clear expression of the Jewish values that guide Repair’s mission. Repair’s senior leadership looks forward to collaborating with the Repair Guild Staff Union to strengthen our organization and amplify our impact. We remain focused on Repair’s mission and achieving the goals set out in our adaptive strategic plan, such as catalyzing the Jewish service movement through strategic partnerships and investing in our team. We will continue to mobilize young Jewish adults and their communities to engage with Jewish learning and serve to meet pressing needs. We respect our staff members who are joint partners in this essential work.”

The Repair the World Guild Staff Union stated – “As dedicated staff of Repair the World, we believe in our organization’s core values of collaboration, transparency, inclusion, and equity. As leaders and stakeholders in our communities, we believe that Repair the World has a responsibility to lead by example. We believe and hope that by forming our Guild Staff Union that we will continue to forge a collaborative spirit and relationship with staff and leadership moving forward. The Washington Baltimore News Guild, Local 32035 of TNG/CWA is the Union for more than 2,500 News, Information, Non Profits and Labor Union Workers across the United States. Our mission statement reads that: “Together, we are committed towards holding various employers accountable and ensure that our workplaces reflect our common values. Everyone should be treated with dignity and respect while being able to work free from harassment, retaliation, earning equal pay for equal work and have a voice in their workplace without discrimination of any kind.”
