Serve 250 | Democracy Ballot

America is in its 250th year. That’s worth showing up for. Choosing service is how we honor our tradition and answer what’s being asked of us right now. By learning, growing, and taking action with our neighbors, we build the trust and connection our communities need, and strengthen our democratic process.

That’s why we are proud to partner with A More Perfect Union to offer these opportunities for civic engagement in support of free, fair, safe, and accessible elections. These opportunities are scaled to meet you where you are, so you can identify your entry point and grow your civic engagement capacity throughout the year.

In Jewish tradition, repairing the world, tikkun olam, isn’t a single act. It’s a practice. Through strengthening each other, hitchazkut, we become people who keep showing up. We invite you to use this resource today, and come back, again and again, as part of our Jewish service movement, showing up for our democracy, thread by thread.

As we move toward November 2026, we will continue adding timely opportunities to support free and fair elections in the United States.

  • Mobilize voters to ensure they get to the polls

Jewish value connection: protectors of this earth, adamah

Join a phonebank shift to get out the vote with Chutzpah. Dayenu is partnering with the Environmental Voter Project to contact voters who care about the climate but don’t get to the polls regularly.

Chutzpah phonebanking shifts are about climate voters, but they also aim to create community and connect with Jewish wisdom and ritual. Volunteer shifts feature live musical performances, kavanot / teachings, guest speakers, and more.

  • Host a Shabbat dinner leading up to the midterm elections

Several hours on a Friday evening

    Jewish value connection: community, kehilla

Use Hillel International’s MitzVote Shabbat Facilitator Guides to support conversations around your Friday night dinner table. The Shabbats proceeding an upcoming election offer an opportunity to center the rich legacy of Jewish commitment to civic engagement in one of our most beloved traditions.

Included in this facilitator guide are a few suggestions for introducing, setting intentions, and guiding Shabbat rituals that are tailor-crafted to meet this specific moment.
