Jewish Service Alliance

The Jewish Service Alliance (JSA) is a coalition of Jewish organizations that have made a commitment to enhance and expand service opportunities for the Jewish community. The JSA mobilizes tens of thousands of participants annually in impactful Jewish service, growing the Jewish service movement to empower flourishing Jewish communities that serve in pursuit of a just world. We work to train professionals and community leaders to run meaningful volunteering projects steeped in Jewish values, connect organizations to collaborate, and provide resources for our member organizations to enhance their volunteer efforts.

Together Our Impact Is Growing

Every act of service, learning, and relationship-building is part of an incremental process that leads us closer to our collective vision of a just world and our namesake value of repairing the world, tikkun olam.

JSA Membership is valid one year and renews annually each August.  To renew, members are required to complete a survey summarizing their JSA commitments and volunteer efforts from the previous year. This helps us better understand and measure the collective impact of the JSA.

Through the Jewish Service Alliance, Repair the World offers microgrants multiple times a year through our field activations. Learn more about microgrants here and the Michael Kay Jewish Service Ambassador program here.

JSA member organizations have a wide range of time that they commit.  Some spend several hours or more each month and are very active through communities of practice, training, and even taking on leadership positions.  Others will spend less time, getting most active around national campaigns like the National Days of Jewish Service or MLK Jr. Weekend.

Success in the Jewish Service Alliance relies on your organization’s strong and consistent commitment. We require each member organization to designate a primary point of contact for the JSA. Additionally, we recommend creating a committee or task force within your organization dedicated to service. Once you join, we’re here to support you in organizing and maximizing your efforts.

The Jewish Service Alliance is open to Jewish organizations from all around the world.

Our resources and best practices for Jewish service are focused on the social needs and Jewish communal landscape in the United States. Once you are a part of our network, we can connect you with partner and peer organizations within and beyond the JSA who may serve as great additional resources to organizations volunteering outside of the United States.

You can view the full list of JSA members below.  All local affiliates and chapters of JSA member organizations are automatically considered part of the JSA.  For example, if you are a JCC, Hillel, or Jewish Federation, you are covered because the JCC Association of North America, Hillel International, and JFNA are all members of the JSA. If desired, affiliates under national organizations can also join the JSA directly to be listed on our website and receive direct communication from Repair the World regarding grants, professional development, and other Jewish service opportunities.
