What is a Jewish Service Ambassador?
Jewish Service Ambassadors are young adults (ages 18–39) who mobilize their own networks to serve together. As a Service Ambassador, you’ll recruit a group of peers — friends, coworkers, or community members and lead them in a meaningful volunteer experience rooted in Jewish values and responsive to real needs in your community.
Repair provides a stipend, training, resources, and connects you with a national network of Service Ambassadors.
As a Service Ambassador, you’ll receive training, ready-to-run program resources, ongoing support, and a $150 stipend per completed and reported service program.
Service Ambassadors gather 6–10 peers – friends, coworkers, neighbors, or community members – and lead service programs that include the four parts of the Jewish Service Learning Cycle:
- Issue Area Learning: the context behind the need
- Issue Area Education
- Hands-On Service
- Reflection: space to process the experience and what it means moving forward
This initiative is designed for emerging leaders of the Jewish service movement – individuals dedicated to making service a defining element of Jewish life. We are looking for those excited to mobilize their peers, strengthen Jewish community, meet local needs, and represent Jewish values through local service.
What Service Ambassadors get access to:
Training to lead volunteer programs — Learn how to plan, host, and facilitate a service program from start to finish.
Leadership skills you keep — Build experience organizing people, partners, and events that carries into everything else you do.
A $150 stipend per service program — Paid for every program you host and report, with a commitment of at least three programs a year.
Jewish values, put into practice — Connect volunteering and social action to Jewish learning and tradition.
A national network — Join a community of Service Ambassadors hosting programs across the country.
Resources and ready-to-run programs — Tools, templates, and program guides so you never start from a blank page. The more you host, the more you unlock — Unlock skill-building workshops, Service Ambassador swag, invitations to gatherings, and more.

How to Become a Service Ambassador
Apply — Complete our short application telling us about yourself and why you want to lead service in your community. APPLY NOW.
Join an Onboarding Call — Once accepted, you’ll join a live onboarding call to meet fellow new Service Ambassadors, learn how to host a Service Ambassador program, and get your questions answered before planning your first program.
Plan Your Program — Choose from our ready-to-run program guides or design something unique to your community’s needs. Submit your plan through our Pre-Program Approval form at least 3 business days before you host.
Report and Repeat! — After your program, submit a quick Program Debrief to share your impact and receive your $150 stipend. Then keep the momentum going! Lead at least 3 programs this year, hosting as often as you’d like to meet your community’s needs.
Serve Wherever You Are
Jewish Service Ambassadors serve their local communities. We have Service Ambassadors across the United States and internationally. You can be a Service Ambassador anywhere you are ready to lead! Whether you live in one of our Repair Communities (below) or not, you can bring Jewish service to your hometown as a Service Ambassador. If you’re in a Repair Community, your local Repair team is there to support you with program ideas, service partner connections, and service learning resources, and you can also lead a Repair city program.
