Welcome the Jewish New Year with music, movement, creativity, and a little repair. Join us at the JCCSF's Rosh Hashanah festival, a celebration full of wonder: the soulful call of the shofar, joyful drumming with Drummm, hands-on holiday crafts, a peek into the remarkable world of honeybees with the SF Beekeepers Association, and apples, honey, and other sweet tastes of the season. Repair the World will be there with a hands-on service project, paired with Jewish learning that connects the work to the themes of the season, reflection, renewal, and starting the year with our values in action. Come celebrate new beginnings, and help make the new year a little sweeter for our neighbors, too.

Rosh Hashanah 2026 Morning Packing Sunday, August 30 | 6:00–8:30 AM Join Maot Chitim of Greater Chicago the morning of Delivery Day to pack perishable food boxes before they head out to families and individuals in need this Rosh Hashanah. This is hands-on, high-energy volunteering that kicks off delivery day itself. Details: Volunteers must be 12 or older to work in the warehouse Please wear closed-toe shoes

Elul invites us to reflect, return, and prepare for the year ahead. This four-part series weaves together embodied mindfulness practice and direct service — creating space to arrive at the High Holidays feeling grounded and connected. Each gathering includes a mindfulness-based practice (e.g., meditation, improv, yoga, art), hands-on service and/or learning with a local service partner, and dinner together. Come to one session or all four (there is an opportunity to indicate later in the registration form which sessions you will be attending). Wherever you are in your preparation, there's a place for you here. Vegetarian dinner will served at all four sessions. This program is available to young adults ages 18-39.

What is it about water that captivates us? Join us for an interactive virtual exploration of the ocean's spiritual essence through Jewish text, reflection, and tradition, just days before our reverse tashlich beach clean up. We'll dig into Jewish text and discussion together, grounding our upcoming clean up in Jewish learning and exploring why we return trash to the shore instead of leaving it in the water. Come with an open mind and leave ready to carry that reflection onto the sand. No boat required, just curiosity and a love of Jewish learning.
