As a host, you'll receive an exclusive MLK Shabbat guide featuring the experiences of Jews of Color and wisdom from Chicago's racial justice leaders, both past and present. You'll also receive $10 of extra Nourishment for each dinner, helping cover meal costs. That’s why we have partnered with Miry’s List, an organization that assists newly arrived refugee families with the challenges of resettlement. Jewish teens in grades 7 – 12 are invited to join Repair the World, and its partners Lappin Foundation, Temple Emanu-El, and Congregation Shirat Hayam to participate in the mitzvah of caring for the stranger by preparing meals for Lifebridge North Shore. Teens learn about the connection between Judaism and social justice while contributing to the well-being of our community. Dinner will be served to teen volunteers. We will be packing vegetarian sack lunches for The Night Ministry to distribute on their Health Outreach Bus to those experiencing homelessness. Act upon the value of kavod ha’bryiot, the preciousness of each human, as we support our local service partner in meeting the immediate needs of the unhoused community. Volunteers are needed at our deployment site in the Pico-Robertson neighborhood on Thursday, February 20th. The Homeless Count is critical to helping the thousands of individuals experiencing homelessness across Los Angeles County by identifying the areas of greatest need and allowing for a more effective allocation of resources and services.
