Take action to support our neighbors facing food insecurity with our friends at the Safe Place for Youth (SPY) Community Garden! Together, we’ll help create a sustainable food system for unhoused local youth. Spend the morning working hands-on in the garden to make a meaningful impact.

For refugees, starting over in a new country isn’t easy. That’s why we have partnered with Miry’s List, an organization that assists newly arrived refugee families with the challenges of resettlement. We will assemble Kitchen Necessity Kits to welcome these families into their new homes. We will also assemble hygiene kits for direct donation to organizations supporting wildfire victims in need.

Let’s come together with Shoes for the Homeless to sort and categorize shoe donations that will be distributed to our unhoused neighbors and those directly affected by the wildfires. This event is co-sponsored by Temple Akiba, Temple Akiba Sisterhood, and Temple Akiba Men’s Group. Feel free to bring new or gently used shoes of all types and sizes to donate.

Join Repair the World Chicago and Base Logan Square on Tuesday, February 18th from 7:00-8:30PM at Base Logan Square for our monthly Logan Square Sack Suppers! We will be packing vegetarian sack lunches for The Night Ministry to distribute on their Health Outreach Bus to those experiencing homelessness. Act upon the value of kavod ha’bryiot, the preciousness of each human, as we support our local service partner in meeting the immediate needs of the unhoused community. We invite you to join us, in partnership with B’nai David-Judea Congregation, IKAR, and Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, to participate in the 2025 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count, an annual initiative of the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA). Volunteers are needed at our deployment site in the Pico-Robertson neighborhood on Thursday, February 20th. The Homeless Count is critical to helping the thousands of individuals experiencing homelessness across Los Angeles County by identifying the areas of greatest need and allowing for a more effective allocation of resources and services.
