A team of Ambassador-led volunteers will prepare and pack a nutritious lunch for 25 children on a neighbouring island then cross by boat to Yebwe Island, a small island in Buvuma Island District of Uganda, located in the waters of Lake Victoria. There they will serve the meal to the pupils of the local primary school and donate books, pens, pencils and other writing materials to support the students' learning. It is a simple act of kindness, and a way of repairing the world one meal and one book at a time.

This Wednesday, October 15, with the help of a group of student volunteers, Ambassador Izzi Lieberperson will host a community meal for our unhoused neighbors. They are partnering with a local community member who works closely with unhoused individuals through his church and a nearby shelter, and he'll help connect people to the meal. They will recover surplus food that will then be prepared throughout the week by a professional chef, food that would otherwise go to waste, and plan to serve it to 40 to 60 guests. Volunteers handle setup, serving with gloves and hair coverings, and cleanup, and we play music to create a welcoming space where people can share a meal and connect.

Join The Westside Jewish Young Professionals for a happy hour at Santa Monica Brew Works where young professionals gather to create handwritten joy cards for residents of Los Angeles Jewish Health. Participants will create cards to brighten the days of elderly residents, combining celebration with service in an informal, social setting.

We will be learning about Purple Thursday (Domestic Violence Awareness Day) and then participating in a service project with Shalva.

The Mbale Community cleaning and waste management program will bring together community members and volunteers to promote a cleaner, healthier, and safer environment in their village. In collaboration with the Village Health Team, they will educate community members about proper waste disposal and the importance of keeping your homes and surroundings clean. Volunteers will take practical action by sweeping, collecting trash, and removing plastic waste from public spaces. The program aims to build community responsibility and encourage sustainable habits.

In Parshat Noach, Noah gathers every kind of creature onto the ark and cares for them through the flood. In this event, we're following his lead. Join Shirat Hayam's Shir Hadash young adult community at Stone Zoo to lend a hand caring for the animals who share our world. After we serve, stay for lunch and Jewish learning together. We'll dig into the parsha and other Jewish texts that shape our tradition's wisdom on tza'ar ba'alei chayim, the duty to prevent the suffering of living creatures. No experience needed. Come ready to serve, learn, and connect with other young adults in the community.

Join us and JF&CS Atlanta at the Kosher Food Pantry to sort, check, and shelve donated food alongside other Jewish young professionals in their 20s and 30s. The pantry provides kosher and non-kosher food to JF&CS clients facing food insecurity, so the shelves we stock go straight to Atlanta families who need them. Our tradition teaches kavod habriyot, the dignity owed to every person, and that value shapes this work: a well-organized pantry means clients get nourishing food with care and respect. It's a hands-on way to meet new people and see the difference a few hours can make. No experience needed. Bring a friend and come ready to work together.
