Join Repair the World Chicago and Base Logan Square on Tuesday, August 25th from 7:30-9:00PM at Base Logan Square for our monthly Logan Square Sack Suppers. We will be packing vegetarian sack meals for The Night Ministry to distribute on their Health Outreach Bus to those experiencing homelessness. Help us act on the value of kavod ha’bryiot, the preciousness of each human, as we support our local service partner in meeting the immediate needs of the unhoused community. Elul invites us to reflect, return, and prepare for the year ahead. This four-part series weaves together embodied mindfulness practice and direct service — creating space to arrive at the High Holidays feeling grounded and connected. Each gathering includes a mindfulness-based practice (e.g., meditation, improv, yoga, art), hands-on service and/or learning with a local service partner, and dinner together. Come to one session or all four (there is an opportunity to indicate later in the registration form which sessions you will be attending). Wherever you are in your preparation, there's a place for you here. Vegetarian dinner will served at all four sessions. This program is available to young adults ages 18-39.

Join us for Shower in the City, a Health & Community Resource Fair bringing free showers, health resources, and connection to our Crown Heights neighbors. We need volunteers on Wednesday, August 26th from 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM at 1119 Eastern Parkway (right by the 3/4 train) to help set up tables, chairs, and tents, and to help distribute food to vendors. Prefer a later shift? We also need hands to break down and stack tables and chairs for pickup at the end of the day. However you can show up, you'll be helping meet a pressing need through service and building community alongside our neighbors. Join Chai Tide Cleanup Crew for our summer beach cleanup series for young adults in San Francisco, brought to you by Repair the World, JCCSF, Congregation Emanu-El, and SF Hillel +. Three times this summer, in June, July, and August we're heading to Ocean Beach 🌊 to clean up the coast and connect with community! Designed for young adults in their 20s and 30s who want to make a meaningful impact in the community, each session is simple: show up, spend an hour making Ocean Beach a little better, then spend another hour getting to know the people you just volunteered alongside nearby at a bar 🤗

Grab a cart. This isn't your average grocery run. Join us for a scavenger hunt through Publix in Brickell to gather items for donation to the JCS Kosher Food Bank. We'll split into teams, race the clock, and check off a list of donation items together — a little friendly competition for a good cause. Once the carts are full, we're heading to Blackbird Ordinary for drinks and chatter. Come for the hunt, stay for the community.

This week, we're tie dyeing for a good reason. Ambassador Daniella Kaplan is hosting a service event supporting Women's Lunch Place, a Boston nonprofit serving women experiencing homelessness and poverty. Come by, dye something wearable, and spend an afternoon with people who care about the same things you do.

Welcome the Jewish New Year with music, movement, creativity, and a little repair. Join us at the JCCSF's Rosh Hashanah festival, a celebration full of wonder: the soulful call of the shofar, joyful drumming with Drummm, hands-on holiday crafts, a peek into the remarkable world of honeybees with the SF Beekeepers Association, and apples, honey, and other sweet tastes of the season. Repair the World will be there with a hands-on service project, paired with Jewish learning that connects the work to the themes of the season, reflection, renewal, and starting the year with our values in action. Come celebrate new beginnings, and help make the new year a little sweeter for our neighbors, too.
