I felt my experience of humanity expand and my identity as a justice-seeking Jew strengthen. I felt my compassion deepen, and my understanding of society and the structures that hold it together unfold. Above all, the Service Corps gave me the tools to be impactful in an often scary and confusing world. Especially in times like these.
Rachel Rumstein (she/her), Los Angeles Corps Member
I think it’s important that we look beyond ourselves...While it’s important to take care of ourselves and our families, it’s also important to take care of the strangers that are in our community, that are kind of the unknown family. They’re part of us, and we all depend on each other even if we don’t necessarily see or feel it in the day to day.
Lindsay Ottersen (she/her), Repair the World Detroit volunteer
