This service project at Kehillat Harlem marks September 11th with reflection and hands-on action. Volunteers pack care kits for local first responders who keep the shul safe, connecting the mitzvah of Tikkun Olam to remembrance of the lives lost that day. The evening includes service, Jewish learning, and community reflection on Judaism's connection to 9/11. We're delivering Rosh Hashanah packages to older adults through our partnership with DOROT, combining hands-on service with home visits or phone calls. Volunteers pack and deliver holiday goodies, then either visit or call the person they're connecting with. A sweet way to start the new year by showing up for someone! Join Repair the World Chicago and Base Logan Square on Wednesday, September 26th from 7:30-9:00PM at Base Logan Square for a special Sack Suppers during the Yemei Teshuvah, the Days of Repentance between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Before packing vegetarian sack meals for The Night Ministry, we will reflect the teshuvah process by learning a few texts over dinner. Help us act on the value of kavod ha’bryiot, the preciousness of each human, as we support our local service partner in meeting the immediate needs of the unhoused community. Repair the World Boston partners with Meor Boston for a National Day of Jewish Service gathering at 39 Brighton Ave, Allston, MA 02134, USA to serve Tifereth Raphael, a food pantry serving 150 low-income families with Orthodox and kosher needs. Participants start with brunch and text-based learning, then move into hands-on service, packing kosher snack kits for kids in these families. The morning pairs Torah study with tangible action, rooting the day's service in Jewish learning and community care.

Join us for Reverse Tashlich on Sunday, September 20th, all ages welcome! Tashlich is the ritual of letting go: each year, we symbolically cast our missteps into flowing water. Reverse Tashlich turns that ritual outward. Instead of casting away, we gather up, pulling trash from our shoreline and putting tikkun olam, the Jewish call to repair the world, into practice. We're teaming up with the JCCSF and Repair the Sea, joining Jewish communities around the globe for this hands-on act of renewal. Together, we'll clean the beach, connect with each other, and reflect on what it means to care for the places we love and share.
