How do I request a matching gift from my employer?
Requesting a matching gift or volunteer grant is normally a five-minute process that you initiate following your employer’s procedure. Some companies use paper forms, while others’ are online.
- After making a gift to Repair, search for your employer in the search tool above. If you can’t find your employer, it may mean that they don’t have a matching gift policy. If you believe they do, you can still request a gift match directly through your employer.
- If you find your company in the search tool above, use the link it provides to log in to your company’s matching gift submission site (you’ll also receive a follow-up email with the link).
- Once you’ve logged in, search for Repair the World or enter it manually.
- Register your donation.
- Submit the completed matching gift request to your employer.
What if I forget to submit my matching gift request?
If you forget to request a matching gift after selecting your company in the search tool at the time of donation, we’ll send you a series of auto-generated emails prompting you to submit your match request. The majority of companies offer an all-electronic matching gift submission process.
Are matching gifts tax-deductible?
Your donation to Repair is tax-deductible, but only your personal contributions are eligible for tax-deduction. Each party involved (yourself and your employer) can only take deductions for contributions they directly made to Repair.
