Giving and Receiving: Reflections on Loss, Kindness, and Healing In life, we find ourselves shifting between giver and receiver—offering support one moment and relying on the kindness of others the next. Through an exploration of the Book of Ruth and a deep dive into a Talmudic passage, we will reflect on the power of reciprocity and consider how acts of kindness can create a continuous cycle of healing and connection. Previously, Dyonna served as Director of Education and Service Learning at The Jewish Agency; Executive Director of Bema'aglei Tzedek, an Israeli social change NGO; and co-founder of Siach.

This discussion will explore our current state of destruction (churban - חרבן) as the natural consequence of our lack of unity (chaburah - חבורה) and what we can do to restore it. Rabbi Mike Moskowitz is the Scholar-in-Residence for Trans and Queer Jewish Studies at Congregation Beit Simchat Torah, the world’s largest LGBT synagogue.
