Celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King through a night of interfaith experience and music led by JCC Harlem, Abyssinian Baptist Church, and community leaders. The night will include candle lighting to usher in the Jewish sabbath, music and reflection inspired by Dr. King's vision of fostering a beloved community, and a festive meal.

This MLK Weekend of Service, join us for Shabbat dinner and a panel discussion with folks working to sustain and nourish our communities through food justice and food sovereignty in NYC. Kabbalat Shabbat will take place before dinner in partnership with Atara Minyan. Speakers will be announced soon. Volunteers will help pack the popular giveaway seed packets that community members can grow at home. IMPORTANT DETAILS: This event is open to all ages and is great for kids! Turn your learning into meaningful action through volunteering on Sunday, January 19th, with the Crown Heights JCC Food Pantry, and help address food insecurity in NYC. Volunteers will help take care of, and beautify the pantry space for clients. Tasks will include: organizing, cleaning, and painting. IMPORTANT DETAILS: This program will be both indoors and outdoors. Please make sure to dress in warm clothing that you do not mind getting dirty. Volunteers will play a key role in creating a positive impact and strengthening community bonds.

Volunteers will care for Bergen Street Garden by mulching, laying down cardboard, and prepping the garden for winter. There will also be an opportunity to paint garden rocks to beautify the space.
