Step Up Tutoring is seeking volunteers to provide virtual 1-on-1 tutoring to 2nd-6th grade students from our local communities to help build fundamental math and literacy skills and to provide support and encouragement. All you need is a computer and internet access. No prior tutoring experience is required. Join the virtual tutoring program today and be a part of a movement to uplift elementary students!

This January, host a Chicago Repair and OneTable MLK Shabbat dinner to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy while exploring the intersection of Jewish tradition and racial justice. As a host, you'll receive an exclusive MLK Shabbat guide featuring the experiences of Jews of Color and wisdom from Chicago's racial justice leaders, both past and present. You'll also receive $10 of extra Nourishment for each dinner, helping cover meal costs. Hosting offers a chance to gather community, reflect on justice, and take action in support of racial equity—all while sharing a meaningful Shabbat meal. Sign up today to participate! This MLK Weekend of Service, deepen your commitment to justice by reflecting on the enduring legacy of Dr. King’s fight for civil rights and learning about its connection to the ongoing struggle for food security in our communities. Turn your learning into meaningful action through seed packet making on Saturday, January 18th with Randall's Island Park Alliance, and help support environmental education and food resilience in NYC. Volunteers will help pack the popular giveaway seed packets that community members can grow at home. IMPORTANT DETAILS: This event is open to all ages and is great for kids! The event will take place inside, but dress warm so you can look around the farm. Drinking water and supplies will be provided. This project is generously funded by UJA Federation

Turn your learning into meaningful action through volunteering on Sunday, January 19th, with the Crown Heights JCC Food Pantry, and help address food insecurity in NYC. Volunteers will help take care of, and beautify the pantry space for clients. Tasks will include: organizing, cleaning, and painting. IMPORTANT DETAILS: This program will be both indoors and outdoors. Please make sure to dress in warm clothing that you do not mind getting dirty. This project is generously funded by UJA Federation of NY.
