Join us for Reverse Tashlich on Sunday, September 20th, all ages welcome! Tashlich is the ritual of letting go: each year, we symbolically cast our missteps into flowing water. Reverse Tashlich turns that ritual outward. Instead of casting away, we gather up, pulling trash from our shoreline and putting tikkun olam, the Jewish call to repair the world, into practice. We're teaming up with the JCCSF and Repair the Sea, joining Jewish communities around the globe for this hands-on act of renewal. Together, we'll clean the beach, connect with each other, and reflect on what it means to care for the places we love and share.

We will be volunteering at JUF Uptown cafe, serving brunch to community members.

Join us for a day of service at a local park in the spirit of Reverse Tashlich, an act of removing our 'sins' from the world. We will perform various cleaning and repair projects at a local Gainesville park, as well as having a tashlich opportunity for both adults and children, plus arts and crafts activities for children! As the midterms approach, we'll talk about protecting elections and ballot access beyond voting, supporting election workers, and strengthening our democracy. Over drinks and light bites, we'll look at election protection through the Jewish value of tikkun olam, repairing the world, and think about voting as a civic and Jewish responsibility. You'll leave with a clearer picture of what election protection actually involves, and real ways to make a difference this election season.
