Repair the World Announces Rachel Andron as the Organization’s New Executive Director for New York Region

Seasoned nonprofit leader to drive strategic growth and expand Jewish service across New York City

NEW YORK, NY — Repair the World, the leader of the Jewish service movement, today announced the appointment of Rachel Andron as Executive Director of Repair the World New York. The role underscores Repair’s commitment to scaling impact across New York City, a thriving hub of Jewish service.

Rachel Andron, Executive Director, Repair the World New York

Prior to Repair the World, Rachel served as Chief Program & Strategy Officer at Family Legal Care, where she guided strategic planning, oversaw a 20+ person team, and directed programs serving more than 25,000 New Yorkers annually. With extensive experience building strategic community partnerships and advancing mission-driven programs across New York City and New York State, Andron is prepared to lead and scale Repair’s work across New York City.

“At this pivotal moment of urgent need and opportunity for the Jewish community, I feel compelled to leverage my skills to contribute to Repair’s mission and reach,” said Andron. “I see the potential of every act of service not only to meet a need—but to build a more connected, compassionate Jewish and communal future.”

Andron holds a B.A. from Barnard College, a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law, and a certificate from Columbia Business School’s Senior Leaders Program for Nonprofit Professionals. She is active in her local Jewish community, serving on the board of her children’s day school, chairing the mission and values committee, and working on community-wide efforts to incorporate service and deepen Jewish engagement among students and families. She begins this new role on December 1, 2025.

As Executive Director, Andron will lead the strategic direction and sustainable growth of Repair’s New York City presence. Her responsibilities include developing and executing plans to expand Repair’s reach across new neighborhoods, building partnerships with Jewish and service organizations, and ensuring every service opportunity delivers a meaningful Jewish experience with strong social impact.

“Rachel’s proven track record in building community partnerships, leading strategic initiatives, and mobilizing volunteers makes her the ideal leader to expand our Jewish service movement across New York City,” said Cindy Greenberg, President & CEO of Repair the World. “Her deep commitment to service and Jewish values aligns perfectly with our mission to mobilize Jews and their communities to take action in pursuit of a just world.”

Since launching in New York City in 2015, Repair the World has engaged 5,000 local volunteers annually and works with over 75 service and Jewish organizational partners. Through programs like the Service Corps and ongoing volunteer opportunities for teens, young adults, and families, Repair pairs hands-on service with Jewish learning, creating meaningful entry points to Jewish life.

About Repair the World: Repair the World mobilizes Jews and their communities to take action to pursue a just world, igniting a lifelong commitment to service. We believe service in support of social change is vital to a flourishing Jewish community and an inspired Jewish life.
