Repair the World Welcomes New Chief Program Officer to Team
Shana Bloom Started with Repair in March 2022 after 8 Years with UJA – Federation New York

(New York) – Repair the World, which mobilizes Jews and their communities to serve to meet pressing local needs as a meaningful Jewish experience, announced it has promoted Shana Bloom to Chief Program Officer (CPO).

“Shana’s selection is the result of an extensive and robust national search process. We interviewed a diverse slate of stellar candidates and I couldn’t be more thrilled that an internal candidate was clearly the most qualified,” said Cindy Greenberg, CEO of Repair the World. “We are excited to see all that Shana will achieve in her new role overseeing the vision and implementation of all Repair programming, including adding the oversight of Jewish Education, Catalyze (national partnerships) and Inspire (national campaigns) to her portfolio.”

Shana joined Repair as the senior director of community impact in March 2022 where she oversaw Repair’s Mobilize (community-based, direct service) work, leading important Repair initiatives tied to internal restructuring to support the rapid growth of the organization.

“I am thrilled to be stepping into this role at Repair, an organization whose culture and mission so aligns with my personal and professional values,” says Shana Bloom, Chief Program Officer at Repair the World. “I am looking forward to working with all of our program teams to ensure we can make the greatest impact in the communities we serve.”

Prior to joining the Repair team, Shana worked for eight years at UJA-Federation of New York, where she launched a volunteer initiative focused on strengthening non-profit organizations so they could better meet their missions and the evolving demands of 21st century workplaces. Prior to working at UJA Federation, Shana worked with children and families as a clinical social worker in the New York foster care system. Shana is a clinical social worker by training and has a BA in Jewish Studies from NYU and an MSW from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College.

Repair will also be launching a search for a new senior director of community impact.  Please visit https://werepair.org/careers/ for more information.
