America turns 250 this year. Some families are spending it in waiting rooms, far from home, holding everything together while their loved ones receive care at the VA. We're showing up for them. Join us at Fisher House, a home away from home that provides free, temporary lodging for the families and caregivers of military personnel and veterans receiving treatment at the local VA hospital. We'll spend the afternoon setting up a craft station where families can decorate flower pots and plant small succulents — a small, grounding moment of beauty in the middle of a hard season. We'll be outside. Wear sunglasses, SPF, and clothes you don't mind getting a little dirty.

We'll volunteer at their iconic Crosby Street bookstore - sorting and organizing donated books, helping process new inventory, and supporting the work that funds Housing Works' mission to end homelessness and the AIDS crisis.
