Join us in packing and distributing hygiene kits for women in the Kiduda Village. We are partnering with Namunsi Women Empowerment CBO, an organisation that empowers women and girls in the periphery. Many women and young girls in Kiduda Village face difficulties surrounding their periods. They lack sanitary products and often use unsafe alternatives during their periods. In this community, women have to choose between food and buying sanitary products. Some Women miss work; young women and girls stay home and miss school for a couple of days each month because they lack products.

Join the rabbis of Silverstein Base Chicago for a day of learning together and celebrating our community. Doors open at 9:30am; learning and celebration will begin at 10am. Over lunch, Repair the World Chicago will lead a conversation about food insecurity in our city and what Jewish tradition asks of us in response. Then we’ll roll up our sleeves and pack sandwiches for The Night Ministry to share with neighbors across Chicago.

Give back this Thanksgiving at the 18th annual Everything but the Turkey, hosted by Federation’s Jewish Volunteer Center. Bring your family and friends to pack Thanksgiving meal kits for neighbors facing food insecurity. Gratitude sits at the heart of Jewish tradition, and caring for the stranger is the most repeated instruction in the Torah. This holiday, we turn that gratitude into action so more families can gather around a full table.

We will be reducing food waste by gleaning fruit that would have gone to waste and then distributing it to the public for free, as well as donating to the food bank and other food pantries around town.

Bring joy to our cherished senior community and help them get ready for Hanukkah! Join us at Los Angeles Jewish Health's (LAJH) two locations for a pre-Hanukkah party where we’ll make and hang decorations, play dreidel, enjoy sufganiyot, and sing some Hanukkah tunes (singing skills are not required)! Most importantly, we’ll be giving seniors the gift of quality time.

As a special part of our November CSD, Tour de Summer Camps, our annual Jewish summer camp fundraiser in Simi Valley, seeks dedicated individuals, volunteer groups, and organizations to help ensure a safe and fun event! Many families in our community cannot afford to give their kids the life-changing gift of Jewish summer camp. This inspiring event raises much-needed funds to help more kids have that transformative, joyful experience. PLEASE NOTE: Various shifts are available throughout the day!
