St. John’s Bread & Life

Join us at St. John’s Bread & Life in either the food pantry at the breakfast shift at 6:00 am to 9:00am or the dinner shift from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. St. John’s serves over 2,500 people every week and each helping hand goes a long way. Can’t wait to see you there! (No Minimum requirement, ages 16+)

The Campaign Against Hunger

Come volunteer in TCAH's food pantry or on the farm! The pantry allows clients to have a choice in the food they are given, similar to shopping at a supermarket. Volunteers provide support in the backroom or front of the pantry, or help with weeding and harvesting on the farm. Get in touch to find out times! (We love ongoing volunteers who can join for 3 hours/week, 14+)

Reading Partners

Reading Partners is committed to helping children become lifelong readers by providing individualized instruction with measurable results. We’re always looking for volunteers to sign up to tutor a student. (Minimum requirement: 1 hour per week, ages 14+)

Neighbors in Action Legal Hand Office

Legal Hand volunteers eliminate barriers to legal access for low-income residents by helping community members with laws, rules, and forms that affect daily life out of Legal Hand’s storefront office, run by the Neighbors in Action. The information sessions will teach volunteers how to give legal advice. No prior legal experience is required. (Minimum requirement: 3 hour per week, ages 18+)

CAMBA Respite Bed Shelters

Join us at CAMBA to assist residents experiencing homelessness. We look for volunteers to provide meals or to stay overnight at shelters throughout Brooklyn. (No minimum time requirement, ages 8+)

Bushwick City Farm

Join us at Bushwick City Farm weekend afternoons. Farming involves weeding, working on the compost, planting, farm clean up and even carpentry related to putting up the green house! Farm work can also include collecting eggs from the chickens. (No minimum time requirement, Ages 2+)
