Celebrate New Beginnings, Share Reflection, and Connect with Open Hearts. ​As the autumn season arrives, the Jewish High Holy Days offer rich traditions of renewal, forgiveness, and welcoming the stranger. Whether we look to Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot, or to the values within our own cultures and faiths, these themes unite us as neighbors and human beings. ​Come sit at a shared table as we enjoy dinner and explore three universal experiences of New Beginnings, Reflection and Reconciliation, and Gratitude. This is an interfaith intercultural event to discover shared values across faiths and traditions, inspired by the Jewish High Holidays, yet explicitly inviting ALL! Bring your appetite, your stories, and an open heart.

This is a monthly womens Hafrashat Challah and Shiur program. We will bring together women from the community to braid challot to be distributed to holocaust survivors.

Join Repair the World Detroit and Adamah Detroit for a walk along Belle Isle on Friday, September 25, as we welcome the beauty of early fall and the arrival of Shabbat. We will gather with old friends and new community members, taking in the calming, restorative rhythm of nature together. The walk includes an opening circle, a closing circle, and a brief Jewish teaching connecting our time outside to Jewish values of rest, gratitude, and community. Wear comfortable shoes or boots, bring a full water bottle, and come with an open heart as we prepare to welcome in Shabbat.

Over the past few months, my community has experienced unpredictable weather and drought, which have destroyed many gardens and crops. Because many families depend on agriculture for their food and livelihood, this has created serious food shortages. As Sukkot, a harvest-centered Jewish holiday, approaches, I am organizing volunteers to collect food from families who have enough and are willing to share with those experiencing greater need. On Friday, our volunteers will distribute the food we collect to families and individuals in the community who are experiencing hunger. The program is an opportunity to connect the spirit of Sukkot with caring for our neighbors and ensuring that no one is left without food.

We will be visiting local Holocaust Survivors prior to Sukkot and providing them with Challah.

Beginning this Friday, members and players of the Maccabi United Nigeria Football Academy will come together to help in the construction of a community sukkah for Gihon Hebrew Synagogue in Abuja. This hands-on build gives our young athletes a meaningful way to serve their community in the spirit of the festival and connect their love of sport with Jewish tradition and practice. The players will be having a busy weekend, as they will be together to usher in Shabbat, and will participate in their first Sukkot football match on Sunday to entertain their community.

Join Adamah on Campus and Repair the World for a beach clean up on September 27th as part of the first ever Adamah on Campus Midwest Camping Trip, September 25–27. We invite students from colleges and universities across the Midwest to spend Shabbat on Lake Michigan, camp in tents, explore the natural beauty of the dunes, share delicious meals around the campfire, connect with fellow students who love the outdoors, and beautify our surroundings through a Jewish service and learning program with Repair the World.
