Caring for Miami’s Most Vulnerable: IDB Bank’s Volunteer Effort

IDB Bank employees pack hygiene kits.
Repair the World recently partnered with IDB Bank’s Miami team and local nonprofit One World One Heart to make a meaningful impact on those facing homelessness and food insecurity in the Miami area. Together, IDB employees took part in assembling hygiene kits, a critical addition to the meals One World One Heart distributes weekly to individuals in need. This initiative, guided by the Jewish value of the preciousness of each human, kavod habriyot, ensured that each kit provided not only essential items but also a reminder of community support and care.
This volunteer moment reflects IDB Bank’s commitment to fostering engaged, compassionate employee resource groups (ERGs) that actively give back. With Repair the World’s guidance, these ERGs bring Jewish and universal values to life, creating meaningful service learning experiences across Miami, New York, and Los Angeles. “Repair the World is grateful to partner with IDB to create successful ERGs that are nourished and enhanced,” shared Lisa Bodziner, Senior Director of Development. “Our ongoing partnership with IDB ensures that staff and employees have opportunities to serve in local communities, learn about pressing needs, and engage deeply with Jewish and universal values.”

As IDB volunteers assembled hygiene kits, they also connected with Jewish values, understanding how access to basic hygiene products supports the dignity of each individual. The kits are set to be distributed during One World One Heart’s upcoming meal service, offering not only physical relief but also a renewed sense of respect and compassion. By supporting these types of volunteer opportunities, Repair the World and IDB Bank are helping employees grow in empathy and knowledge, demonstrating the impact of Jewish education and values in addressing today’s urgent needs.
