Repair the World Releases 2023-2024 Annual Report and Evaluation Findings Report, Showcasing Transformative Growth and Jewish Engagement Through Service

(United States) – Repair the World is excited to announce the release of its 2023-2024 Annual Report, a detailed look at a year marked by significant growth, powerful Jewish engagement, and a commitment to addressing pressing community needs. Alongside the annual report, our new Evaluation Findings Report reveals the depth of our impact on participants—both Jewish and non-Jewish—and demonstrates how Jewish values have fueled a remarkable movement for service and social change across the United States.

As our communities faced rising challenges, particularly after October 7, Repair the World’s programs became vital for strengthening Jewish identity and fostering community connections. By intertwining Jewish learning with hands-on service, Repair created space for over 133,000 volunteers to engage deeply with Jewish values while addressing critical issues like food and housing insecurity, education support, and more. Together, these participants contributed over 218,000 acts of service and learning, strengthening communities and building meaningful connections across diverse groups

Key Findings from Our Annual Report and Evaluation:

Deepened Jewish Engagement:
The Annual Report underscores Repair’s unique approach to service, where each act is not only a response to community needs but a means of strengthening Jewish identity and understanding. According to our reports, 85% of program participants reported a broadened understanding of Jewish life and values, with 77% expressing a desire to further integrate Jewish activities, learning, and values into their lives.

Impact Beyond the Jewish Community:
For the first time, we have clear data on the effect our service has had on non-Jewish participants, highlighting the bridge-building potential of Repair’s work. Our evaluation revealed a ripple effect of connection and shared learning, fostering partnerships and mutual understanding across diverse communities.

Real Stories of Transformation:
Personal stories in the report highlight the deep impact of Repair’s work. Paula Polishuk, a participant in the Hillel Service Engagement Institute, shared, “The most significant change I experienced was how I felt after volunteering. I have never felt such fulfillment.” Stories like hers show how Repair’s service programs create meaningful change for individuals and communities alike.

Growing a Jewish Service Movement:
Repair is empowering a new generation of leaders by grounding service in Jewish learning. Programs like the National Day of Jewish Service and immersive learning cohorts help participants address social change through Jewish values, fostering meaningful connections and inspiring ongoing involvement.
