Serving Kindness: Oakland Volunteer Provides Meals to Unhoused Neighbors

Teajay Tapia (he/him), an Oakland resident, volunteers with Rogers and Rosewater, providing meals, harm-reduction kits, and essential items to unhoused individuals. Inspired by community role models, he also operates a “Free Store,” where people can access supplies at no cost. Teajay finds fulfillment in fostering connections and building community, aiming to expand his efforts. His work, which includes feeding over 400 people weekly, emphasizes the value of consistent, compassionate support for those in need.
