Young Leaders, Handmaker Residents Bond as Volunteers ‘B’Yachad,’ Together

As part of a culminating project for the Catalyst Fellowship, sponsored by Repair the World and Jewish Federations of North America, Nate Weisband organized a service and learning program with volunteers from Jewish Philanthropies of Southern Arizona’s Young Leadership Division and residents of Handmaker. Together, they packed school supplies for 400 students at Homer Davis Elementary School, shared stories, and reflected on the meaning of Shavuot. The event uplifted both volunteers and residents, offering a moment of connection, purpose, and resilience amid rising antisemitism.
