Join us at LA's newest Moishe House in Pico Robertson to make cards for local firefighters as we mark 25 years since 9/11. This hands-on service activity honors the brave men and women who answered a call to service that day and those who continue to serve our local community every day since. Bring your creativity (artistic skills optional) as we remind firefighters that their sacrifice is seen and deeply appreciated by the community they protect.

Simchat Torah is the most joyful day on the Jewish calendar. It's the day we finish reading the Torah and immediately start again, celebrating with singing and dancing. Join us at the Grancell Village campus of Los Angeles Jewish Health to bring that joy to residents who can't fully participate on their own. As a volunteer, you'll help with the mitzvah of unrolling the full Torah scroll, hold and dance with the Torahs near residents to bring up the energy, and help roll everything back up at the end. The celebration takes place in the campus Sukkah. Please arrive by 9:30am to help set up. The program runs 10:00–11:00am and wraps by 11. No experience needed. Just bring your dancing shoes and your ruach!

PORCH Westwood, a member of a nationwide PORCH Communities network, is a monthly food collection uniting the Wilshire Corridor community to fight local hunger. Each month, volunteers and neighbors connect over the evolving needs of our nearest food bank, Westside Food Bank in Santa Monica, then collect donated items left on neighborhood porches. Together, we transform individual acts of kindness into coordinated community care because hunger lives close to home, but it doesn't have to. Through community and action, we're building the community our most vulnerable neighbors deserve. We'll meet promptly at 6:30 PM. Our meeting location will be sent by email. After a community gathering, each volunteer will receive instructions about collecting food donations.
